Gene Krupa on Beverly Hills, 90210?
There must be a Gene Krupa fan working on the popular TV show Beverly Hills, 90210 because on an episode titled "The Following Options" that aired on December 9, Gene and his band were mentioned. It occurred when Kelly's Grandfather got upset when he was made to get out of a car before he was able to hear the end of a song by Gene Krupa and his Orchestra playing on the radio. Sure seems like a legitimate reason for getting upset to me.

Memoriam: Jack Platt
It is with great sadness that we belatedly report the sudden passing on May 26th of our friend Jack Platt. Jack was a long time personal friend of Gene's and became the administer of the Krupa Estate. He was also the leader of current Gene Krupa Orchestra. The Gene Krupa Reference Page extends their condolences to the Platt family.

1941 volume 2 1941 Volume 2, ninth in France's superb Classics Chronogical Gene Krupa series, was released on October 6. With over sixty songs recorded by Gene and his Orchestra in 1941, it should require yet another volume following this new release to chronologically summarize the entire year.

The Year in Celebration
1998/99 will be a very eventful period in regards to the life and career of Gene Krupa. We started off by commemorating the 60th anniversary that Gene Krupa and his Orchestra performed for the first time at Atlantic City's Steel Pier, on April 16, 1938 and following that the 55th anniversary of his famous "drug bust". Later this year we will also sadly observe the 25th year of Gene's passing on October 16th and then joyfully celebrate his 90th (WOW!) birthday next January 15th. So there's quite a year of anniversaries in 1998/99 for Gene Krupa fans!
