FOR SALE: CD recordings off of the original OKeh label 78's of Gene's FIRST recordings: "Nobody's Sweetheart", "China Boy", "Sugar" & "Liza", all by, of course, McKenzie & Condon's Chicagoans: the first two being recorded on December 8, 1927 & the last two being recorded on December 16, 1927, all featuring a then 18 year old Gene Krupa in not only his first recordings, but the first EVER recordings to use a full drum set: one of the innumerable contributions the man made to drumming culture, not to mention one of the many reasons why I myself have patterned my style after his.

Let's talk: Maybe I can fit a few more of Gene's work on that CD for $20, including, if it's your wish, cuts taken directly from all 4 original Victor Scroll 78 rpm pressings of "Gene Krupa's Swing Band" from 1936 as well as cuts from all 4 original Decca 78rpm pressings of "Gene Krupa and his Chicagoans" from 1935. I even have all 4 78rpm cuts of Lionel Hampton's very first "All Star" session from early 1937 featuring a full compliment of Benny Goodman's band, including Gene that I could throw in.

Let's talk, shall we? I can promise that these 78rpm recordings are clear and strong; AND properly equalized.

WANTED: I'm looking for (don't hold me to this name) a Gene Krupa Combo Bee-Bop Drum Outfit by Slingerland. It's a floor tom-tom with a top metal rim and 2 cymbal holders and a bottom wooden rim has a leg bracket. I think they were made in the 40's (maybe earlier). My Dad is a drummer and still has a picture of me as a baby sitting at his set. His set went the way of the pawn shop in the late 50's (kids on the way!) and I'd sure like to find a replacement outfit. Any help would be appreciated!
